History Worthy of Celebration

People & Peaks 2025  will celebrate the Marshall/Clark finish of the first circuit of the 46 Adirondack high peaks in 1925.

After the trio climbed the original 42 summits Bob and George identified as being 4000 feet in elevation and meeting certain prominence and distance parameters,  friend and author Russel M. L. Carson (Peaks and People of the Adirondacks), suggested 4 additional summits met their criteria. The three climbers ascended those additional 4 summits, completing the first round of the Adirondack 46 on June 10, 1925.

Our informative and insightful program will feature portraits of Russ Carson by Doug Arnold (#4693W), Herb Clark by Sharp Swan (#566W), Robert Marshall by Peter Slocum (#3368) and culminate with a preview of the forthcoming biography of George Marshall by author and historian Suzanne Lance (#1802W).
